Mikhail Khodorkovsky and MEP Justas Paleckis letter communication

           10 December 2013 MEP Justas Paleckis received Mikhail Khodorkovsky‘s personal letter, communicated from prison through his lawyers in Fortzer consultancy based in Brussels, Belgium.

           Mr. Khodorkovsky who is a former businessman, was arrested on 25 October 2003, charged with fraud and was found guilty and sentenced to nine years in prison in May 2005. While still serving his sentence, Mr. Khodorkovsky was further charged and found guilty of embezzlement and money laundering in December 2010, extending his prison sentence to 2017. On appeal, Mr.Khodorkovsky’s sentence was reduced from 11 years to 10 years and 10 months meaning he could be released in August 2014. Please read Mr. Khodorkovsky’s  letter here.
